The Colors of Home: The debut novel by critically acclaimed author Edwina Perkins, has been named second place for Contemporary Novel of The Year in the prestigious 2026 Golden Scroll Awards as recognized by the AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association)

AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association) announced the winners of the 2026 Golden Scroll Awards at the Golden Scroll Banquet, Sunday, August 2, at the St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, Missouri. Awards were presented by Linda Evans Shepherd, founder and CEO of AWSA, Dawn Damon, CEO of BraveHearted Woman, and Carol Kent, founder of the Speak Up Conference and the nonprofit organization Speak Up for Hope.

One of the highlights was Edwina Perkins, whose book The Colors of Home was given Second place for Contemporary Novel of the Year. The book is published through Dressed In Love Press and is another highlight in Edwina’s career, which also includes her as co-director of the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference, as well as being along-term member of Word Weavers International, and served as the Emerging Leader Coordinator with the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association (ECPA).

Edwina Perkins serves as Co-Director of the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference, where she champions diverse voices in Christian publishing.

A long-term member of Word Weavers International, Edwina now serves on its advisory board alongside her role on the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association (ECPA) advisory board, where she previously served as Emerging Leader Coordinator.

An award-winning writer and experienced educator, Edwina works as a speaker, freelance editor, mentor, and authenticity consultant. She teaches at conferences throughout the year, advocating for honest, inclusive storytelling in Christian fiction. Her work has been published in numerous magazines and anthologies.
