It’s a lovely day, you have free time and the sun is shinning. Oh glory day, the only thing that is left is… a GREAT INDIE BOOK! No problem. You pick your phone and hit social media and search “Books” and say to yourself: “To make this even more interesting, the VERY FIRST book related post I see, I WILL BUY IT!“
The game is on! And after 1 nano-second, it hits you! An author to asking you to buy their newest and coolest book! AND IT’S FREE! HA! But… wait… Where is it?
You click the author’s profile, and see the other posts. There’s LOTS. All of them about the book. The cover is great! You love the font, in your favourite genre too, yet, no blurb. Just pleas to buy the book.
Sounds familiar?
Well, that’s more common than what you can imagine.
Blurbs can make or break a book. They are one of the first impressions that a reader gets from it, and a CRUCIAL one. If you have a horrid cover and a irresistible blurb, you WILL get the sale (here are some GREAT BLURB examples). Why?
Because the blurb is the sneak-peak of the plot, and although covers are VERY important (like the ones below...) ,nobody buys a book to simply look at the cover the cover, right?
