The single most import skill in writing.

Imagine a very young and talented writer that waves fabulous stories with the down-right potential of becoming classic best-selling titles, but struggles with his career (and life) so much that he becomes depressed because the only thing he encounters is failure, eventually quits and the world never hears about his name, or his stories, only because he failed to acquire one simple skill.

Is it rhetoric, you ask? Grammar? Maybe plotting? Character development? No. All of the above are good skills but secondary.

The one skill that turns out to be the most important is: Selling.

Think about it. What is the point of writing the best book in the world if I can’t sell it to anyone ? What is the point of you having the grammar skills of J. K. Rolling if you can’t sell your manuscript to an editor? But above all, what is the point of writing a book, if you can’t sell it to yourself?

That’s right. Selling. Not advertising, not marketing, but outright selling.

All the successful people in the world, including writers, are salesmen in a way or another, and their success is directly proportional to their extent of being able to sell.

If you doubt it, pay close attention to them next time, and you will notice.

Now, you might say: “Ok, maybe you are right, but, I don’t have time to sell my writings, I have to write!”.

Yes, but if you just write, how do you expect your books to sell?

– “I will pay somebody do the marketing for me.”

That might seem justifiable, but ask yourself this: How many sales do I get just from the marketing I pay for? Have I ever sold my books’ worth? Have I actually made money?

It’s not that you shouldn’t market your book, but you have to know that  marketers are paid to do the marketing of books, not to sell books. They are specialized in letting people know that your book exists, which is very important, but, people don’t buy books simply because they exist. That’s why is marketing your book isn’t enough. You must know how to sell.

Now ask yourself: “Who is the person that cares about and knows my book more than anyone else in the world?”.  That’s the best person to sell your book.

– “I don’t have the skills to sell”.

Most skills can be acquired, and fortunately for you, Joe Girard,  wrote one of the most practical books about selling methods and that book is titled: “Sale Anything to Anyone (SOLD)”.

Who is Joe Girard and why should you read a book that he wrote about how to sell? Oh, he is just the THE BEST SALESMEN IN THE WORLD according to The Guinness Book of World Records. A man that was able to sell, get this, 13 thousand cars in a year, single handedly, in other words, he sold on average 18 cars a day! He sold more than 97% of all the car dealerships in America and the world, alone. He is regarded as one of the “Sales Giants” in the fantastic book “The Giants of Sales” , along with none-other than Dale Carnegie himself. Yes, Carnegie was a salesman.

Yes, I myself have read Joe’s book and tested his sound, simple and honest approach on selling. Now, will you want your copy in kindle e-book or in print format ?

Read this, and you have what it takes to sell to anyone.  No problemo.
