A MASTERPIECE of conspiracy, random unexplainable death, gore, zombies, mutant wolves, witches, mad scientists, badass characters with amazing depth and color, love, sarcastic humor, the best, most lovable, funny, brutal and maniac of a villain that you can get, and several unexpected plot twists that hit you out of freaking nowhere!
In this bloody amazing work, you have post-war Dalthea, that is as broken as a place can be and getting worse through corruption and chaos.
You are presented with the raincatchers and Serena, that seems to be our new Main character an as the pages roll-by smoothly and without any death, you get caught in the comfort of the scenarios, and displays, and then, it starts and it doesn’t stop.
An accident happens, and the ball starts rolling, pulling connected threads one by one, until a conspiracy starts to grow clearer and clearer along with the sight of impending war. Yes, Gallows is caught in the middle of it, along side with our favorite ninja-assassin Damien Fieri, and the most badass female character of the year, Tiera Martelo. The book is so well woven that before we know it we are already 200 pages in and into a world of messed up theories, bloody happenings, senseless clues that appear to sow confusion onto the readers mind but keep us asking questions, laughing and flinching at what we read.
Believe me when I say that you will say “ah… shit”, scream at the book (author) “NO!!!! WHHHYYYYY?!!” and “Belios!” throughout the book, as we ourselves think that have learned the lesson that the prequel taught us: “Do not hope. Things will get bad before they get worse, and they will get worse, when you least expect it”.
Gruesome carnage will come, several times and do not, by any means fall in love with any character because most likely then not, they WILL die, and don’t be fooled that the main character role will save them, not with this author, na-ah.
A thriller that will leave you guessing the next scene even knowing you have zero chances of getting the outcome right, unpredictable to the comma. Amazing and worth every eye-movement.
