Critically acclaimed and multiple Award-Winning Author, Tong Ge receives Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award

Canadian Immigrant Magazine announced the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards of 2025 that included award-winning Calgary author Tong Ge listed among the recipients for her achievements in writing and power in stories.

Presented annually by Canadian Immigrant magazine, the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards recognizes inspirational immigrants who have made a positive impact on their communities since arriving in Canada. 

The awards highlight achievements across sectors – from business and education to advocacy and the arts – and honour individuals whose stories reflect resilience, leadership and a deep commitment to community. 

The recognition of acknowledgement in an award of this magnitude complements her latest accomplishments including award wins for her debut historical novel, The House Filler at the 2024 Independent Press Award for new fiction, the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors (NAIWE) Award for Literary Fiction, the 2025 Maxy Award in the Historical & Adventure category, and Storytrade Book Awards for Historical and Literary Fiction as well as being a finalist at the 2023 Eyelands Book Awards, the 2024 Canadian Book Club Awards for fiction, and second place for 2025 BookFest Award for literary-historical fiction.

About Tong Ge

Born and raised in China, Tong Ge moved to Canada in the late 1980s as an international student. Since 2012, her poetry, prose, and short stories have appeared in both English and Chinese publications across North America, England, Mainland China, and Taiwan. Her debut novel, “The House Filler,” was published in Canada in 2023. It’s a finalist for the 2023 Eyelands Book Awards, the 2024 Canadian Book Club Awards, and the 2025 International Book Awards. The novel has also won multiple awards including the 2024 Independent Press Award for New Fiction, the NAIWE (National Association of Independent Writers and Editors) Book Award for Literary Fiction, and the 2025 Maxy Book Award for Historical & Adventure fiction, Storytrade Book Awards for Historical Fiction and Literary Fiction, and second place in the 2025 BookFest Award for Literary-Historical Fiction.
