Author Tricia Copeland is back with the fourth installment in her Realm Chronicles series, To Be a Fae Rogue, and you are not going to want to miss this latest book. Queen Titania has been through so much. She’s faced the kobold, a possessed swarm of locusts, trolls, goblins, and even dragons! All in the name of protecting her people from the evil that is Sonia.
Unfortunately, the last battle she was in…she lost her life, but was granted a reprieve by the witches. While she lives, few know of her survival. The hope is that Sonia will stop targeting her people, but peace…never lasts forever when evil lurks nearby.

To Be a Fae Rogue continues the running theme of Queen Titania being the face of the cover. This cover depicts our dedicated queen with her fiery hair still swept up and away from her face. Her lovely face is adorned with the gemstones that she acquired after escaping Lower Earth. The crystalline dust scattered across her brow and the stones marking her for who she is studding her forehead.
A dynamic change readers will notice with To Be a Fae Rogue’s cover is that our proud queen’s head is not held aloft like it has been in the past. The question of “what has happened to cause her to bow her head?” will surge through you. Her golden eyes downcast as if some great loss weighs heavy on her. Is it because she is cut off from her family? Friends? Well, you’ll have to dive into this book to discover the truth.
While To Be a Fae Rogue does not pick up where things left off in To Be a Fae Legend (read review here), this book is still very much off to the races. To Be a Fae Legend may have toned down the drama until the final chapters, To Be a Fae Rogue makes up for it in spades! Buckle up, because this book is one whirlwind of a ride!
Author Copeland has Titania free of the burdens of running a kingdom for now in To Be a Fae Rogue. The fail safes that she put into place to keep her kingdom safe and free from another laying claim are in effect. Quinn is king, and her family under his care. It has been three months since her death. As we’re sure you can imagine, Titania is going stir crazy. LOL!
While she has the company of specifically selected and trusted guards, she misses what once was. She’s not alone though. Theron, now Terran, is with her in the beginning chapters of To Be a Fae Rogue. He too craves action and freedom. Unfortunately, seeing as he is a being from another realm, he would easily stick out like a sore thumb. So begins his education and training to help him try to adjust. We’ll let you guess as to how well that goes. LOL! But he still has his part to play in this story.

Author Copeland stays true to form in writing To Be a Fae Rogue in the first first person. We get to experience the story through Titania’s mind and eyes. We get to bear witness to the struggles, her determination, and the sparks of love that have caught and bloomed into a flame of love towards her diligent and dedicated friend, Foster.
How do you feel about Foster from the previous books dear fellow readers? Have you forgiven him for how he treated Titania in To Be a Fae Queen (read review here)? It’s taken us some time, but he’s been the most diligent and dedicated across the series. So…we guess we can forgive him. LOL! Okay, he’s earned it. Haha!
To Be a Fae Rogue is a rollercoaster of a ride. Titania makes the decision to aid the witches in the Upper Realm to try to appease Sonia. Why? Because despite Titania playing “dead”, Sonia still rages. The only difference is that her attacks aren’t laser focused on the Middle Realm that the fae call home. Instead, author Copeland left readers on a cliffhanger with Sonia’s note saying “Next time a volcano erupts or an earthquake rumbles through the bedrock, you will be witnessing my reach.”
Did you get chills? We got chills. We got chills the first time that we read it at the end of To be a Fae Legend! (read review here) LOL! Well, Titania is determined to stop Sonia, especially when the eruptions and quakes threaten her people. Of course, you’ll learn that Titania’s desperation to do something, anything lands her in a bit of hot water with her beloved. Honestly, Foster has the patience of a saint. A saint we tell you!! LOL! You’ll understand when you read To be a Fae Rogue.

As Titania embarks on quests to aid the witches in the Upper Realm (the human realm), she gets a crash course in the divisions that run rampant throughout. Hunter and the girls have a lesser part in To Be a Fae Rogue. Instead, Tyler and DJ take on a bigger role as they link up with Titania to continue the fight. You’re going to love how it’s revealed to them that she is still alive. Author Copeland has Titania lay things on a little thick, but to be fair, Titania isn’t familiar with human behavior. So, at the end of the day? It works. It really does.
In To Be a Fae Rogue Titania works the “I’m dead, but not dead” angle to the hilt! She may or may not thumb her nose at some of the Council’s edicts concerning striking an agreement with creatures of the Upper Realm. Honestly, we weren’t always on board with her rebellious behavior, but we have to remember fellow readers, Titania is still a teenager. It’s easy to forget this one particular element of the story. LOL!
Author Copeland weaves an engaging storyline that rarely lets up as you page-turn through To Be a Fae Rogue. The drama that plays out is truly unrelenting in the most delicious way. You’ll find yourself not just on the edge of your seat, but subconsciously holding your breath during certain situations. Trust us, we had more than a couple moments where we let loose a huge breath we didn’t even know we were holding!

We will warn you of one thing, though, dear readers – author Copeland is going to once again…bring tears to your eyes. Grab a box of Kleenex and prepare yourself! We won’t tell you when or drop any clues beyond that. Just know that before this book is over – you will be crying…more than once.
