This is an interesting book, not only for the easy flowing narrative, but also because of the not-so-obvious obvious looking plot that will have you saying : “I GOT IT! I know who the killer is” just to 10 pages later you become curious with the new evidence and the change of perspectives and motives.
Yes, Kelsey Anne Lovelady did not just make another mystery book, she actually incorporated many aspect in this book, and believe me, you better heed by the trigger warning in the beginning. No, the book is not ultra-graphic, no, the imagery is clear, but it never gets to the point of being overwhelming, not even in the most gruesome nightmares that our MC, Jaz, has, so don’t worry about that.

So, what is the Permanent Reminders about? Well, glad you asked. The book is about Jaz, that has a niece that is going through a rebellious phase, and simply idolizes her. “Where is the serial killer part comes in?“, well, if I told you that I’d be spoiling most of the fun on this book, and talking about fun, you will smile a lot while reading this book, due to the dark humour on most of Jaz’s interactions, through her thoughts, that can be at times very dark, now… back to the killings, or suspects.
This is one of those books that has too many suspects of a murder to not pay attention to everyone. Seriously, some people here are messed up in the head, and I’m not even talking about the serial killer yet! Just bonquers, so if you love some drama and whatafucks this is a book you totally want to check out, hahahaha.
As per the character interactions, Kelsey Anne Lovelady made an excellent job on this Thriller Romance, she did it very well, and the interactions between Jaz and her niece, her niece’s girlfriend, and her best friend are simply natural and make sense while reading. We also got the handsome cop that helps out to add some romance and spice for the ladies…. even if this is a LGBTQ+ centered book. It’s nice indeed to see that an Indie Writer can carve these cool interactions so well. Kudos to Kelsey.

With the interactions come the humour and with the humour comes the weird, and there is a lot of weird in this mystery thriller. Not only the fun snort-laugh weird, but also some “magical” weird and some wtf weird on the behaviour of characters that many times will take you by surprise, as it will put them right in the spotlight of being the killer.
Now, as per the educational content on this, it’s to expect that Kelsey ramped-up on this aspect on this book as well, and this increased the value of the book, because it not only shows a plethora of the issues that teens have, both straight, and homosexual, but also because Kelsey focuses this book on the dangers of sex-work and the risks that teens take by wanting to do things on their own on the internet, but the great thing about this all, is that Kelsey does not preach this to you, you only go about reading it and then, it hits you that you area learning and taking conclusions on your own. It’s GREAT!!!!
There is one thing that we HAVE to give credit to the author. Kelsey made the perfect elongation of the novel. Seriously. There will be times you will say: “this is solved!” then ask yourself why are there 200 pages left, hahahahhaha. Trust me. This book is very cool, if you are looking for a intriguing and off-the-frame mystery novel, this is one you don’t want to miss out. Very well done by Kelsey!
