1- Hell Fighters

Do not let the rating fool you, this book about a magic, demonic forest that will do everything to protect itself, will make you vomit if you are not careful and have a high degree of self-control. Do not underestimate the atrocities of the Maji Aki and it’s hellish inhabitants. This is a forest that should have a sign saying: “Dear traveller, whatever you want to do here, don’t. Stay AWAY, go back, NOW!” . Read the full review here for more creepy details.

4- Six Strings

Winner of the best Fantasy book of 2021, Six Strings packs a heavy punch in giving you the chills. The room temp will drop in many of the scenes as a ghostly hand grips your neck and… other parts as well. Sexy, devilish, uncensored and eerie, this book can only be described as that creepy cackle on a moonless night in the woods. Read the full review for more.

5- Never Never

IF there is a book that we could simply call “eerie” and “creepy” , Never Never is that book. *goosebumps*. If you like green eyes, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! Imagine one of your favourite Disney movies, twisted to the point of being macabre. and repulsively egotistical. Read Never Never by Liz Butcher, IF you dare.

6- Graveslinger

This female centred book will give you the action, the werewolves, the demons, the gruesomeness and evil villains, under the moonlight with fangs and blood, but above all, ask you: Who is the real twisted monster, after all? Darren Lee showed many seasoned writers, how it’s done. Read the review here.

7- That’s Creepy Santa Trilogy

OF COURSE! We couldn’t have a list of horror books without mentioning the QUEEN of Horror, Julie Kusma, that makes her appearance with her small Trilogy of short-stories about a twisted Christmas gift that might just be that killing deal we all look for in that season. But, apparently, it’d be better suited for Halloween, or… HELL! Read this fantastic set of short-stories and the review about it.

8- Heart of Malice

C. Billie Brunson makes her SECOND appearance in this list with another incredible book! This time, less twisted, but MUCH more macabre and… apparently…. heartless. A novel that has more twists than expected and two timelines that will make your heart beat faster. *Evil Laughter*

9- Errors

Errors

Ok. This one is tricky. Errors is a collection of short stories, yes, but it is not only horror, but, the stories of horror will make you gasp, laugh and be extremely intrigued. If you are looking for something light and fun, yet, at times twisted and thoughtful, Errors is definitely a collection you want to look into.

10 – Duatero

Duatero is a scifi/horror novel by Brad C. Anderson that takes you to a planet where the people every nine years wait for the Founders to return, and it seems like the planet was “forgotten” by them. People are struggling for survival and the vegetation that rules the planet? It doesn’t want them there, and it will do what it must to “bring them to heel.”

Get it on Goodreads || Google Books || Barnes&Noble || Amazon

Duatero is a serious page-turner scifi. You’re probably going to be yelling at the characters, on the action packed scenes, and sometimes when things calm down a little, and appreciate while you read the struggles they battle within their minds and as the author builds up moments of hope, you will have those “maybe, just maybe” moments that will leave you on the edge, even when the outcome is dire.

11- Death’s Intern

Who said Death doesn’t have sense of humour in her bones?

Get your book on Author’s Page || Alibris|| Book Depository|| Amazon

This enjoyable urban fantasy novel will quickly sweep you away as you dive into it. We are introduced to Isis Black, a waitress at a local small restaurant possessing a secret past that will soon, very soon, catch up to her. She’ll go from work and lonely nights to work and hilarious mayhem.

You are going to appreciate how relatable, D.C. Gomez, makes Isis, who is always “on the run”, for a reason, so, when Death herself comes knocking her door… she has no choice but to answer.

When it comes to humour, D.C. Gomez delivers!!! When the characters promised in the blurb make an appearance, watch out, because the laughs bound to happen. Do you LOVE cats? Yeah? Then GRAB THIS BOOK, because, Constantine, the cat, is hilarious. Constantine pulls no punches, and his wit is literally everything, hahahahahahah. You’re going to be having some serious laugh-out-loud moments with this book. I loved it!!

12- Fury: A Cinderella Story

“When Cindy Tremaine showed up to the office work meeting Monday morning, no one was surprised given her legendary work ethic. Except for Cooper Washington, who killed her three nights earlier.”

Fury: A Cinderella Story by David Allen. This book was an entertaining and fun re-interpretation of the classic Cinderella fairy tale.

From the very first pagethe author established that this story was not going to be the traditional fairy tale re-imagined

The author weaved together two classics to present modern, ‘hot topic’ themes with a contemporary conclusion akin to revenge horror films such as “I Spit on your Grave” or “Last Night in Soho” or “Carrie”. Allen was able to introduce the ‘horror’ alongside traditional tropes in a way that was authentic to the storytelling, thereby presenting a three-fold approach that was intriguing and immersive.

13- Reboots: Undead can dance

Imagine a spaceship where vampires and werewolves, that are mortal enemies, have to co-exist; add helpless zombies to clean their mess up while getting ripped to shreds by both, and… one zombie that actually thinks and it’s trying to survive, by killing them both . What happens when total chaos ensues, and the ship starts to fall apart? Find out in this GORGEOUS, hilarious and action-filled space-opera with more than just one story and many, MANY twists, and fur strands.

14- Grolar

Talking about fur…. would you like a bear-hug? Yeah? Just make sure you don’t ask it while in the woods, because… well, it comes with claws and teeth.

Thorsten Nesch is one of our favourite writers, and he decided to go inside the mind of a beast of a bear that is defending his territory from invaders, and will shred everyone to pieces. One, by one.

15- A Demon’s Trade

How could we give you Halloween book recommendations without some paranormal stuff, and not just stuff, but the good good stuff. YES, I’m talking about the queen of Paranormal, Kathrin HUTSON! with one of her newest books, A Demon’s Trade. Like, we could give talk about this book ALL DAY, and all of her other books, (do check them out, and their reviews), BUT we will leave you with this gem of paranormal Urban dark fiction .

16- Alpha & Omega

Get your copy on Author Page || Goodreads || Kobo || Overdrive || Book Depository || Amazon

And last, but not least, is Alpha & Omega, the last book of the Uluru Legacy series by the International Bestselling Author, Anna J. Walner that wraps up this series and lays the foundation for the next one beautifully! Read this incredible book, but first, the whole series, because, when it comes to Paranormal romance, its very hard to beat Anna.

Stay well and Happy Halloween!
