There are certain people that have a special touch to their art syle. A certain feature that is defines or that marks the artist, and with Isabel, it is “light”.
The drawings and portraits that Isabel does simply shine by themselves by the combination of light colors with the predominance of white, as well as light blues and browns, semi-dark and dark tones that contrast with the main colours, creating a dance of shadows, making the final “gloss” that Isabel puts to each drawing is something remarkable.
Yes, these are drawings, and not edited images. Drawings! Hand-made.
One can only doubt, at first, that this was made by hand due to the complete flawlessness of the painting itself, the homogeneity of the colour distribution, the light and the depth of the images, we think that it is an edited digital picture, and only after a closer look we come into reality that this is, in fact, a hand-made drawing. It’s IMPRESSIVE!
In the painting of Gabby Paddilla you can see that the bigger soap bubble is “out-of-focus” and the smaller ones, where Isabel wants you to look at, that are closer to the face of Gabby, are “focused” and clear. The amount of detail put into these paintings are out of this world! There are only a “handful” of artists that can reach this state of perception of illusion, and one of them is Isabel.
Isabel’s personality shines through in all of her drawings, as the emphasis of lightness, glow, vitality, peace and a rebel spirit are felt passed on to the observer successfully.
You can see that she purposefully gives more attention to the light colours and tones than the shadows, not only by the quantity of canvas used on them, but the main angle of observation of the painting itself, is ALWAYS light, and only the secondary planes of observation have shadows, creating the depth needed to increase your attentoin towards the central focus of the painting.
It takes you some time to notice, but it’s a welcoming experience to look at these portraits and drawings for a long time.
All this skill and sheer genius is even more impressive when you find that, she is ONLY 18 years old.
